Center’s 2021 Reopening Status
Hello all,
Please read the following in regards to our Center’s reopening status, our parking lot activities, our Meals-on-Wheels program, our 2021 Senior Center memberships, website links to local health departments for health and vaccine information, and Governor Dewine’s Orders/mandates for reopening Ohio Senior Centers and other orders our Center must comply for operation. These four Orders are Senior Centers, health and fitness centers (our gym), casinos and games (our billiards tables and card activities), and restaurants (our in-house food program).
Mechell Frost, Executive Director
Reopening Status:
The Governor announced that Ohio senior centers may reopen on September 21, 2020. Later, he released a reopening Order. The Order consists of specific requirements to ensure the safety of older adults. After careful planning and much discussion with our Board of Directors; unfortunately, it was concluded that we do not have the capability to successfully carry out these mandates to comply with the Order. Therefore, we will not be reopening at this time. The health and safety of our membership, staff, and guests is our number one priority. Our meals on wheels program will continue. We miss you and look forward to seeing you soon.
Membership Parking Lot Activities:
During this time we have been conducting free lunch drive-thru’s, essential items handouts, and Bingo-From-Your-Car. These activities are CDC compliant. You must be a current 2021 member of Senior Center and have a reservation. We will send out a one-call for dates and times and instructions to participate in these activities.
Home Delivered Meals:
Our Meals-on-Wheels program is in operation. We accept Passport and private pay clients within the Hillsboro City limits. If you have a question about your meal or the program, please call us and leave a message with your name and phone number and we will return your call as soon as possible. 937-393-4745.
